Doing it the English way…
Being one of the cradles of the modern day development in history, the country of England or rather the United Kingdom has been one of the primary centers for higher education for ages in history. Thus, among all the other nations of the world, it used to be the people in UK who had the most access to higher education and it was more or less this reason which led the British society to be one of he most educated. However, over the recent past, just like in other countries, even in the UK the cost for higher education has undergone a steep increment and thus gave rise to a problem by which even students who were able and willing to continue with studies had to be restricted from doing so, due to lack of funding.
Mainly in order to counter this problem, certain authoritative bodies have been formed, which are in charge of various activities involving giving grants, loans and subsidies to students for carrying on with their higher studies. The process by which these kinds of activities are carried out in UK mainly include an application on the behalf of the student pursuing a under graduate or a post graduate program through various bodies such as the Local Education Authority in England or Wales, the Education and Library Board in Ireland or the Students Awards Agency for Scotland. The application is supposed to carry certain details including the tuition fees, the family income, the boarding facility he or she is going to avail, which would be scrutinized and thoroughly by the authorities and then they would decide on the amount of loan to be given to the applicant. These loans generally include a grace period of one year after the completion of the course before the start of the repayment.
